ATTENTION: There WILL be computers available for your use during class on Thursday, April 21. I have assigned each of you to a room in the B-wing. The computer labs are not available at all this week due to testing. If you don't need the computers, you will stay in B225 for the period.

Requirements for Creative Non-fiction assignment

 You must choose a non-fiction topic that you are passionate about
Find three reliable, factual sources on the topic
One must be a PRIMARY source (first-hand account or experience)
Write a ONE PAGE newsletter (use the newsletter TEMPLATES in Word) with call-out boxes using FICTIONAL TECHNIQUES, while relaying only the truth.

 Cite your sources using ENDNOTES (under References in Word). 
Use MLA format for your citations
 (EasyBib or Son of a Citation Maker are good websites for creating proper citations)

Don't forget we are MODELING a peer editing session, reviewing "rules for responding to writing," and then working in small groups on our short stories to practice praise and critique on THURSDAY, April 7. 
This is a GRADED ACTIVITY--be there, ready to participate. 
 
It is also a FOOD DAY--Evans is providing hot chocolate and tea (and cups). Any food brought should be intended for sharing. 

Your first memoir piece (memory and POV) is due at the beginning of class, 4-7. We will continue Creative Nonfiction practice next week.
